CUP v22

CUP/Upgrade Tips

Welcome to CUP v2!

As you can see, it has been entirely rewritten, now running on Bun with much easier to deal with JavaScript implementation. And this is only the beginning: with reliable and flexible core, this thing is going to grow into a backend for proper CM Workshop soon. Please, tell your friends, we need as many modders to join this platform as possible!

Anything new already?

Two key changes so far is an option to upload files directly and mark content as searchable. With direct uploads, in the future this thing will index content and turn it into a nice gallery of mods available in both CM and on websites. For this reason, it only allows you to upload ZIP files: while space savings of 7Zs or RARs are noticeable sometimes, dealing with them can be quite a bit more overwhelming, especially considering that they often don’t allow to extract a single file without unpacking everything.

As for searchable flag, set it for mods you’d like to end up in that CM Workshop, or if you just want for Content Manager to offer to install the mod if it’s missing, for example, for joining online servers.

Also, now you can upload an icon to be displayed in Content Manager directly from this panel as well. Go to profile settings and look for a link at the bottom.

By the way, another important change now is that you should, please, register and upload your content even if it hasn’t been updated yet, so that registries and galleries could include it.

What’s up with that introduction page?

Just something to guide you to fill out some extra details for your profile if you’d like to. To be honest, the main reason for it is to hint you into enabling searchable flag. And if activate this flag and already had mods on CUP v1, it’ll mark them as searchable too.

And why is there that “Original content” flag?

Some users might not like to see content ported from other games in CM Workshop, so they won’t see mods not marked as original ones. Most of the users don’t care about it though, so it’s not going to affect much from our side, just make the purists happy. So, why not just mark ports as non-original?
